The pandemic introduced many of us to the joy of binge-watching new series, and here are some of my personal favorites that you won’t want to miss:
Mom
Exclusively available on Amazon Prime, Mom is one of the funniest shows I’ve ever seen, blending humor with valuable life lessons. The story centers around the relationship between Christy and her mother, along with their dynamic akin to Tom and Jerry.
The series delves into the lives of Christy, Bonnie, and their friends, all of whom are recovering alcoholics. Mom portrays their journey of transformation through Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, showcasing the significance of these sessions in the lives of those battling addiction.
The comedic chemistry between Christy, Bonnie, and their group is nothing short of amazing. This show is definitely a staple in my watchlist.
The Family Man
The Family Man follows the thrilling life of Srikant Tiwari, a middle-class man balancing his family life with his patriotic duties. This show skillfully combines elements of drama and suspense.
Srikant works for TASC (Threat Analysis and Surveillance Cell) and is deeply passionate about combating terrorism. His intelligence and problem-solving skills set him apart as he navigates some of the most challenging scenarios. The tension escalates when three terrorists enter the scene—two survive while one is eliminated by another. Srikant finds himself grappling with the fallout of these events as he unravels the mystery.
Four More Shots Please
Four More Shots Please is an Indian comedy-drama series on Amazon Prime Video, often described as a lighter version of Sex and the City. The show follows the lives of four unapologetically flawed women who navigate love, friendships, and personal growth.
Each of these women leads a distinctly different life, providing unique perspectives on romance, work-life balance, and ambitions. Their strong bond of friendship drives the narrative, showcasing their ups and downs in a relatable and humorous manner.
